The Bennington Wind Project
A responsible project with long-term benefits for all stakeholders
ABOUT
The Bennington Wind Farm is an opportunity for Marshall County to produce clean electricity and meet the evolving power needs of Illinois. The project will create new local jobs during the construction and operations phases, and it will strengthen and diversify the local economy. The project promises to bring new tax revenues to Marshall County for schools and government services, and we will continue to be a local partner and purchaser within the business community for the next several decades.
The project area will be entirely located within Bennington Township in the southeast corner of the county and will connect into the transmission line that parallels Interstate 39. On-site construction is scheduled to start in 2020, and the project will be fully operational and delivering clean electricity in 2021.
